Mould Perfectmasterbatches are the latest in a series of technically advanced products formulated by Begg & Co Thermoplastics.

At a time when all aspects of Manufacturing seem to be increasing in price, we can offer a product that helps to take cost out of your production process.

Mould Perfect has benefits for all PP, HDPE and TPO application processes

  • Extrusion
  • Thermoforming
  • Injection Moulding
  • Blow Moulding

Mould Perfect

  • Decreases Cycle Times- typically between 7% and 30%
  • Significantly Reduces Reject

  • Reduces effect of colour on process
  • Improves Regrind Harmonisation
  • Improves Dimensional Stability
  • Reduces Warpage

  • Removes Sink / Ejection Pin Marks
    Eliminates voids
  • Reduces Trimming / Angel Hair
  • Allows Increased Top Load

When producing plastic components, the usual issue is the faster the process, the lower the quality of parts so there is always a compromise.

Once quality issues arise such as Warpage or deformation, sink marks or voids, the usual solution is to increase cooling time thus decreasing the rate at which a component can be manufactured, adding to the manufacturing cost per component.

Mould Perfect works by overcoming these associated quality issues allowing for more rapid production by speeding up the rate at which the polymer changes from molten phase to solid.

Mould Perfect is a proprietary blend incorporating a nucleating agent, for usage at very low addition rates that can be supplied as natural additive masterbatch or as a combination masterbatch containing colour + Mould Perfect

Most nucleating agents speed up the crystallisation of the polymer but also increase Warpage problems due to orientated or uneven crystallisation & shrinkage.

Mould Perfect offers faster and more even crystallisation than any single nucleating agent currently available, allowing controlled shrinkage and thus reducing warpage and deformation issues such as ovality.

It is widely accepted that colours such as blues and greens are more difficult to run than yellow for example

This is because of the nature of the colourant particles, they can act as nucleators and cause unnatural crystallisation of the polymer.

Because of the speed and high temperature at which Mould Perfect starts to crystallise the polymer, it negates the effect of colour on shrinkage so typically difficult colours such as blues & greens can be run on the same settings as non troublesome colours such as greys.

International Approvals for Plastics for Food Contact Registrations

United States (FDA): Food Contact Substance
• Europe: Food Contact Materials Directive.
• Japan: JHOSPA Positive List Approval.

Attached are actual case studies carried out in the UK illustrating the benefits of Mould Perfect in overcoming existing quality issues and reducing production cycle times.
